Cannon Park as a venue

Cannon Park, the home of Cairns Jockey Club, sits just on the edge of Cairns City centre and has an array of function rooms that are ideal for hosting any function from 20 to 500 people. The grounds of Cannon Park provide ample car parking for whatever function you host.

Coral Coast catering are the resident on site caterer for The Cairns Jockey Club and can assist you in making your function a success by offering any of our standard menu or tailoring a menu to suit yourselves. Cairns Jockey Club and as a fully licensed venue Cairns Jockey Club can organise either a cash bar or bar package for your event if required.

There are six separate event hosting sites available, each with it’s own attributes.

Presidents Lounge

This newly constructed venue is beautiful for weddings and larger events. It includes ample toilet facilities, a bar and audio visual requirements. The function area is surrounded by lawns and the large fig trees. This ideal for 250 people seated or 350 cocktail style.

Silks Pavillion

The largest venue at Cannon Park and probably close to the largest in Cairns. The Silks Pavilion can seat 500 undercover in a semi temperature controlled environment. The venue has it’s own bar and ideally suits a dinner or lunch event. At ground level it is wheelchair accessible.

Winning Post Bar

Situated at the top of the main grandstand the area is airconditioned and has two exterior outdoor balconies. The room has it’s own bar and suits an array of functions from a seated meal for up to 100 guests, a cocktail party for 150 or smaller functions such a straining seminars with over 20 people.

Tropical Verandah

Overlooking the race course The tropical Veranda is a breezy open area with it’s own bar and can host up to 120 people for a cocktail style function or 80 people seated.

Members bar

Fully airconditioned the members bar suits either training seminars from 20 to 80 people or cocktail parties for up to 200. The dynamics of the room ideally suit training seminars with plenty of space available for break out sessions.

Garden Party

Situated under the large fig tree in the grounds of the race course the semi enclosed area ideally suits an informal garden or cocktail party for up to 100. The wider environ has room to erect a marquee to host up to 1500 guests.

Bar Options

Cannon Park has either bar packages, pre determined bar tab facilities or cash bar facilities. The bar is fully staffed, we can add service to the table staff for an additional fee.
